Slowly as the darkness begins to pass
Life starts to bloom.
A shard of light breaks through the thick clouds
Piercing the air with a small glimpse of hope.
It’s as if the delicate flowers know now is their chance
Cutting through the blanket of dirt and misery to share their beauty with the light above.
Once hibernating beneath.
A form of self preservation perhaps.
Waiting for the heavy to lift from their souls
so that once again
they may dance in the light.
